Trash At Stanley

Stanley is a town in Hong Kong where a lot of Westerners hang out. I like being in the city, but it was nice to be away from it; away from the crowd. The view itself wasn’t what I expected. I envisioned a beautiful beach with soft sand and a place to surf. It was a complete opposite. All the garbage that I saw in the water at the Main Street waterfront was horrible. I can’t believe there was so much garbage, it was pathetic.

I chose the better image because up close looks bad! The only thing that was attractive was the surfboard. Don’t be too happy, there was a crack in the middle. Aside from all the garbage, I loved walking on Main Street with all the restaurants there. The menu looked delicious.

There was also the Stanley Market. I prefer markets over shopping malls because I can always get a good deal. You know that bargaining thing? Yeah well…I’m good at that, real good. The only thing I bought at the market was a flying helicopter. I have yet to try it still.

With all the distractions created by the garbage, I’d still recommend this place. It’s a great place to get away from the city. Sometimes the city just feels too claustrophobic. I better head to Big Wave Bay Beach for some “real” surfing now!
