I had a hard time putting this day into words, mainly because I was mesmerized by how beautiful this island was. Words can’t do justice.
We started the day with a tour to Fira first then drove to Oia where all the tourists go to. We drove up a path that was really nice. Some people find it scary because it was beside the cliff with no fence. I thought it was amazing! The views that we saw at Fira were gorgeous. We stopped at a winery place first to have a taste of their wine. Then we spent about 30 minutes taking pictures of the view. We were pretty lucky because our ship, Ruby Princess was the only one there. We didn’t have to share the island with other cruise ships.
The view was gorgeous!
We then drove to a more touristy area. There were shops and the souvenirs were nice. I like the replicate of the little Greek houses, those were cute. I didn’t do much shopping because I was busy exploring the island. We always came across a small hallway and when we walked out, we were given a beautiful view. The white houses left me speechless. I took as many pictures as I could because I didn’t want to miss anything.
Our last and final stop was to Oia. Beautiful as well, looks like Fira but with a lot more people. Our tour came with tickets to take the gondola ride down to the ship’s tenders, but we decided that we had to take the donkey down instead. The donkey ride was super cool! I would love to do it again. Overall, I would definitely be back for another visit. One of my favorite places to this day.
The donkey ride down was amazing!!
Our tour guide told us that Santorini has one of the best sunsets. Unfortunately, when it was time for the sun to set, our ship already left Santorini, so I watched it from my ship.
I barely made it because I was having dinner.
Fionn is an adventure seeker that is attracted to danger. She is always on a mission to wander around the globe curiously. Whether it will be hiking to the bottom of Grand Canyon, swimming with whale sharks, or finishing the World’s Toughest Mudder, she will always be there with her camera(s) in her hands, a smile on her face and butterflies in her stomach. Oh, and did she forget to mention that she is also a foreign Piña Colada drinker?
Wonderful photos! I loved Oia more than Fira as I actually found the latter too touristy. Lol. We stayed there for about 4 days and whenever we were driving past the cliffs I had to close my eyes, it was scary. The beaches were nice too. 🙂
Your photos made me miss Santorini, still the most beautiful place I’ve ever seen. 🙂
Driving past the cliffs were great for me! I love the view, it’s magical. I wasn’t able to stay for the night in Santorini. Did you see the sunset? I heard it’s one of the best in the world. I saw the sunset while on the ship near Santorini.
