The Act Of Stepping On Horse Shit

This is probably, maybe my 4th time coming to Eldred King Woodlands in Stouffville. Numbers and Fionn don’t go well together.

Let’s start by talking about what’s at Eldred King Woodlands. It’s a forest with trails to do nature hikes or x-country skiing. But… lets NOT forget all the horse shit that I stepped in. Being the 4th time, you’d figured I would have learned my lesson right? Well, unfortunately, not…

3 Horses

Wait wait wait, let me explain to you why! My purpose for going to Eldred King Woodlands was to take pictures of the autumn colours. I was focused on finding bright red leaves, but I couldn’t find any! So it was a lose-lose situation, stepping on horse shit and not finding any red leaves. What a horrible day. However, I did find one (okay, fine, maybe a few), red and green maple leaves.

Maple Leaf

I guess it wasn’t a lose-lose situation anymore. I was attracted to the colours because it reminded me of Christmas! Christmas = snow = snowboarding. If you haven’t read my post A Love Story with Blue Mountain, you better do it! By now, you should know that I love snowboarding. Right… back to the topic… Eldred King Woodlands… horse shit.

After wandering around looking like a maniac, I found a scene that looked mysterious. I imagined myself running around the woods playing hide and seek while using BB guns. Really weird, eh? Sometimes my brain does these weird things, don’t mind me.

Imagination

Let’s stop the imagination and… oh yeah! I forgot to tell you that everything is free at this place. Everyone likes the word “free” right? Free admission, free parking, free stepping on horse shit. If you want to follow my footsteps, here is a map of where Eldred King Woodlands is.

Feel free to check it out, but for now I better wash off all the ____ at the sole of my shoes.

About Fionn Luk

Fionn is an adventure seeker that is attracted to danger. She is always on a mission to wander around the globe curiously. Whether it will be hiking to the bottom of Grand Canyon, swimming with whale sharks, or finishing the World’s Toughest Mudder, she will always be there with her camera(s) in her hands, a smile on her face and butterflies in her stomach. Oh, and did she forget to mention that she is also a foreign Piña Colada drinker?
