A Cliché In A Park With Sand

With very fine sand people tend to draw or in most cases, write on the sand to claim that “I’ve been here”.

The equation becomes…

Sand = writing my name (Makes sense?)

I tend to see lots and lots of pictures of this cliché particularly during the Summer. The news feed on my Facebook is filled with vacation photos, mostly at a beach. And guess what I see?

Seriously, take a guess…

Beach selfies?

Nah, sand = writing my name, remember?

There are two different “photos”

1. (Insert name) 2013

2. (Insert name) and then a heart

Which one do you prefer? Yeah, I’d say the first one too.

People have been asking me how I executed the photo above. Well, the trick here is to use a tripod (No probs, anytime). Extend your tripod to the longest length and use the tip of a leg and write.

Seeing all the sand with no footprints on it, how can I resist not writing my name? It is the perfect time, so I don’t blame myself at all and I also don’t feel guilty.

There isn’t much to do at Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park (CPSDSP). I try to have some fun by trying to pick up a perfectly natural shaped sand sculpture. It didn’t go so well. It is nearly impossible because it will break off the second you touch it.

So what else is there to do? Well, CPSDSP offers about 1200 acres of open riding area for OHV enthusiasts. There are more OHV riders than tourists trying to climb (well, walk) up the highest hill. Oh yeah, I must say that I only saw 8 OHV riders and 3 dogs, not a lot. OHV riders pass by very quickly, so the entertainment doesn’t last for a long time, unless they stop.

So what’s next? I guess I can go back to trying to pick up a perfectly natural shaped sand sculpture. And when I successfully complete this mission, I will be back.

Any tips will be much appreciated 🙂
